Happy Memorial Day
Hey everyone! Before all the picnics and festivities start (if they haven't already for you guys) I'd just like to remind everyone to not forget the real meaning as to why we celebrate Memorial Day and to say a thank-you to all the veterans out there, as well as those who paid the ultimate price to keep our country free. I hope everyone has a nice day - stay safe, and don't forget the true meaning of Memorial Day!

The Lone Ranger --A Quick Movie Review
Hey, guys! Sorry I haven't posted all this week. I've been wayyy too busy with class-related work, and when I'm not doing that, I'm either outside with my horses or inside fighting with my iPod, which completely and utterly broke when I tried to update it. Fun, right?!
But anyway, without further ado, here's a review for Disney's The Lone Ranger.
The Lone Ranger was released in 2013. The storyline from IMDb reads:
"In the 1930s, an elderly Tonto tells a young boy the tale of John Reid, the Lone Ranger. An idealistic lawyer, he rides with his brother and fellow Texas Rangers in pursuit of the notorious Butch Cavendish. Ambushed by the outlaw and left for dead, John Reid is rescued by the renegade Comanche, Tonto, at the insistence of a mysterious white horse and offers to help him to bring Cavendish to justice. Becoming a reluctant masked rider with a seemingly incomprehensible partner, Reid pursues the criminal against all obstacles. However, John and Tonto learn that Cavendish is only part of a far greater injustice and the pair must fight it in an adventure that would make them a legend."
The cast includes Johnny Depp as Tonto, Armie Hammer as John Reid/the Lone Ranger, and Ruth Wilson as Rebecca Reid.
While the storyline can get a little botched -- one minute, you're watching the events as they happened, and then suddenly, you're back in the museum, and the little boy is asking "Tonto" more questions. It's kind of confusing, but you can follow along regardless.
Other than that and some content --it's PG13--, it's absolutely hilarious, and I do recommend watching it. Johnny Depp playing Tonto is absolutely perfect! One of my favorite parts was probably at the very end (I can't remember if it was after the credits or not), when the Lone Ranger is on Silver, and the horse rears up and he yells, "Hi-ho, Silver!" and then Tonto just says, "Don't ever do that again." or something to that effect... It was just funny xD
Overall, it's a pretty light film with plenty of humor, and I do recommend watching it. It's not totally littered with language, either, which Have any of you seen it? Do you plan on watching it sometime?

Monsters University review
Hey, everyone! I recently watched Monsters University, and thought I would do a quick review on it.
I initially wasn't going to watch it, because it seemed a little...iffy...as to if it would be good or not. I love Monsters, Inc., though, and when I learned that Nathan Fillion voiced one of the monsters on Monsters U, I just had to see it. (Nathan Fillion...any Castle fans out there??)
Anyway, the basic plot follows Mike Wazowski on his journey from high school to going to college, trying to become an official scarer for Monsters Inc. This is where he meets Sulley, and they are less than best friends. Sulley's in the popular group, Mike is not...you see where this is going, right? Mike isn't scary enough to become a scarer, though, and through a series of events, he and Sulley join up with a group of less-than-scary monsters during this annual competition that takes all these teams through several tests and competitions, eliminating the non-scary monsters. The reason Sulley and Mike join their group and sign up to participate in the annual competition is because they both broke something very dear to a high monster of authority (I'm blanking up on her name and position, sorry!) and she refuses to let them back in the school. They make a deal with her that if they win, the whole team (all of them were told they weren't scary enough) would be able to go through college, and thus their journey begins.
I won't spoil a lot of things, but their journey ends up being unsuccessful after Sulley, in the last round, cheats. However, they go on to show all of the monsters making do and everything working out for all of them anyway, and Mike and Sulley end up working as mail people...er...monsters...at Monsters Inc., and then slowly make their way up to officially become scarers for Monsters Inc.
Overall, I would give the movie a 7 out of 10. It's a cute movie (and Mike as a little monster is ADORABLE), but the plot is kind of not very strong. I do, however, like that they had to pay for the consequences of cheating, instead of getting in anyway, and I also like that it shows that they had to work hard to get to be scarers at Monsters Inc., instead of just having the jobs handed to them. It definitely is not quite as good as the first one, but I still really liked it. If you were a fan of Monsters Inc., I would reccomend watching it. (: Has anyone seen Monsters University? Does anyone plan on seeing it?

Photoshoot and a new face!
Hey, guys! So yesterday, I decided to do a photoshoot, since it was soo pretty outside, and the crabapple tree in the front yard is in full bloom.
This is how I got up to do these pics. You might find it slightly amusing...or you'll just groan because now I realize I could've just gotten a ladder from the garage. (I'm a day late and a dollar short, I suppose! xD) Anyway.
I had my dolls in a plastic bag to keep them clean and all within arm's reach; my camera in the other hand.
When I went out to do the photoshoot, I thought "Oh gee, I'll be able to just toss them up on limbs from the ground and take pics that way, those limbs aren't very high up off the ground!"
Silly me.
The limbs were too spindly and weak. I needed to climb up the tree in order to get any pictures.
Mind you, the front yard is in full view of the road that goes past the house. And it was during the busiest time of the afternoon (even though we live in a rural area). So...if anyone reading this saw a random person with a blue plastic bag clutched to her chest, jumping erratically and/or swinging off of a branch...that was me. [I'm highly self-conscious, in case anyone's wondering xD].
Anyway.
Soo this is our best climbing tree. As a little kid, I always used to climb it (of course, I didn't take my dolls and I didn't take a camera). Easy enough, right? Well...that's been awhile. The limbs closer down have also been trimmed off, due to them being too close to the driveway (our UPS driver probably loves that tree...not..) Anywho, there's this little V in the trunk that I can always get my foot jammed into, but I can't reach a branch to pull myself up -- and the V is only barely broad enough for me to stick my foot in there and twist it sideways. So I re-evaluate the situation. Either I can go the easy route and just forget about the pictures, or I can try to take a running leap and try to grab onto a branch. Of course, you know what route I take. I stuff my camera into the bag with my dolls, clutch it close to my chest so the dolls nor the camera will get banged up, back up several steps, and run. Being short stinks. It took me several tries, but I finally managed to grab the branch. Then, I had to stick my foot in the V of the trunk. Well...I probably should've gotten ahold of the branch a little closer to the tree itself, because I had to stretch, stick my foot in there, and stand upright...without falling and breaking my foot, which is jammed into the V of the trunk like nobody's business. (Yes, leave it up to me to figure out some weird alternative to what could've happened). Anyway...so I stood as pictured above the whole time, which is why I didn't get as many pictures as I was hoping for...my leg was shaking so bad by the time I finally retired to the tulips and daffodils xD
So anyway. I know...that was a pointless and dumb story. Morale of said story: USE THE LADDER. :P Back to the pictures.

"Help...me...save me from this crazy person..."
And guess who the newest addition is? 2011 Belle!! I'm working on a review for her (as well as half a dozen other things =D) So that's why this post is a bit heavy with Belle pics...I'm trying to figure out the best angles to photograph her from. She's extremely photogenic! And so pretty...now, there's no wonder that her name means "beauty" ;)
Ahh, yes! A rare appearance from Mattel's 2010 Rapunzel! :D
Those are some big tulips.
These are more doll-sized flowers...!
That's it for now, guys! I'll hopefully have some more posts up soon! Plus...I have almost 5500 pageviews, and 11 followers -- you guys are AWESOME! Thank you so much =]
Has anyone else taken their dolls out and had some spring photoshoots yet? Or maybe I'm just late on the uptake :P Also, I have some questions for you guys: Would you be interested in TV show reviews as well? I watch so many shows and would be happy to share some intel if you'd like :P Also, upcoming movie reviews include Wreck-It-Ralph, RIPD, The Lone Ranger, and Monsters U!

Quick pop-in and a TV show review!
Hey, guys! I just realized I haven't posted anything on here since the day before Easter...oops...sorry, guys! I have a TON of posts planned, but I just haven't gotten around to writing them xD Gotta love procrastination, right? Ugh.
Anywayyy, today I have a quick post reviewing a TV show called "Chuck".
Has anyone heard of the TV series “Chuck”? Well, if you haven't, it may be because it was only on for 5 seasons. It ran on channel NBC between 2007-2012, and if you get into nerdy crime shows, this would be for you.
The main character, Charles "Chuck" Irving Bartowski, who works at a Buy More in Burbank, California.
After opening up an email sent to him by his old college ex-best-friend, Bryce Larkin, all of the government's secrets are installed into his brain. Since the "Intersect", which held all the secrets before they got downloaded into his brain, kind of got blown up, this event promptly sends him into a gigantic mess, which involves the CIA and the NSA. Trust me, it's confusing, but it makes slightly more sense if you watch the show. This show is absolutely HILARIOUS! Let me warn you: the first season is kind of slow, Chuck makes a bunch of *stupid* newbie mistakes (since, really, he's kind of just been thrown into spyhood), and there is a bit of talk about inappropriate content, mostly in the first season. And of course - and unfortunately - there are some bad words as well, but nothing extremely...like, R rated.
Anyway, you'll laugh, you'll cry, and after you see the series finale, you'll watch the show all over again :D
Plussss....
Chuck Bartowski is played by Zachary Levi, whom we all know and love as the voice of Eugene Fitzherbert. Ohh yeah!!! His character speaks to me on a personal level...he's awkward, nerdy, hides in his room when his sister plans a huge birthday party for him, and promptly passes out at the sight of needles. xD
Anyway, the rest of the main characters include...
Joshua Gomez as Morgan Grimes, Chuck’s best friend, who also works at the Buy More
Yvonne Strahovski as Sarah Walker/Jenny/tons of other aliases; works for the CIA.
Adam Baldwin as Colonel John Casey (NSA. Dry humor. Man of few words, grunts a lot. Likes to use his tranquilizer gun…a lot. Hilarity always ensues.)
Sarah Lancaster as Elinor (Ellie) Bartowski — Chuck’s awesome sister.
Ryan McPartlin as Devon Woodcomb — aka Captain Awesome. (No, literally; he’s called Captain Awesome. Chuck gives him that name xD)
Vik Sahay as Lester….who works at the Buy More.
Scott Krinsky as Jeffrey Barnes; also works at the Buy More.
Mark Christopher Lawrence as “Big Mike”, who is the store manager of the Burbank Buy More.
Bonita Friedericy as General Diane Beckman , who basically is the head of the Project Intersect.
I can’t really say very much about the show, because it would spoil a lot of things, but let’s just say that it’s an amazing show, and you can watch all 91 episodes on Netflix if you so desire. I highly recommend it! You can also look up season 1-5 bloopers on YouTube...also worth a watch. They are hilarious! I laughed so hard I cried when I watched season 1's bloopers. Actually, I'll just include links to those -- everyone loves bloopers, right?
Season 1 bloopers
Season 2 bloopers
Season 3 bloopers
Season 4 bloopers
Season 5 bloopers
Has anyone seen Chuck? Anyone plan on watching it? If you have any questions, I'll be more than happy to answer them. And if you want to talk anything Chuck-related...you know where to comment. =D
