Disney Store updates

Hey everyone!!

Today, the Disney Store finally came out with some of their 2014 Classic Doll collection!!
The face molds and paint, etc. look to be exactly the same, but the outfits are different for the princesses.  Plus, Mother Gothel has a glittery dress.  Didn't think she'd be much of one for glitter, but hey.

Merida also has a new outfit -- she has less glitter, but her dress has a neat, glittery little pattern along the bottom.  It's really nice!

Rapunzel's got an AWESOME dress this year -- it's as close to the movie dress as they've gotten since the original 2010 doll came out!  Also, I'm not sure if maybe it's just me, but her face looks different.  Almost rounder, maybe?  Or her lips have softer coloring?  I'm not sure.  Your thoughts?

I didn't really notice much difference with the Ariel, Mulan, or Pocahontas, but Cinderella has a beautiful dress this time as well:

What are your thoughts on the new 2014 redesigns? 
I'm DEFINITELY going to get Rapunzel (who knew, right?? :P) and hopefully Belle as well.  Any of you guys planning on getting any of them?   
I'm excited to see if they made any changes to their articulation -- hopefully changes for the better!!

Surprisingly, the Frozen dolls have not been added to the "Classic" collection yet -- I'll be interested to see if they redesign them, and what they will look like if they do.  As usual, the Frozen merchandise is completely and utterly out of stock.

Photoshoot and a new face!

Hey, guys!  So yesterday, I decided to do a photoshoot, since it was soo pretty outside, and the crabapple tree in the front yard is in full bloom.

This is how I got up to do these pics.  You might find it slightly amusing...or you'll just groan because now I realize I could've just gotten a ladder from the garage. (I'm a day late and a dollar short, I suppose! xD) Anyway. 
I had my dolls in a plastic bag to keep them clean and all within arm's reach; my camera in the other hand.  

When I went out to do the photoshoot, I thought "Oh gee, I'll be able to just toss them up on limbs from the ground and take pics that way, those limbs aren't very high up off the ground!" 
Silly me. 
The limbs were too spindly and weak.  I needed to climb up the tree in order to get any pictures. 
Mind you, the front yard is in full view of the road that goes past the house.  And it was during the busiest time of the afternoon (even though we live in a rural area).  So...if anyone reading this saw a random person with a blue plastic bag clutched to her chest, jumping erratically and/or swinging off of a branch...that was me. [I'm highly self-conscious, in case anyone's wondering xD]. 
Anyway. 
Soo this is our best climbing tree.  As a little kid, I always used to climb it (of course, I didn't take my dolls and I didn't take a camera).  Easy enough, right?  Well...that's been awhile.  The limbs closer down have also been trimmed off, due to them being too close to the driveway (our UPS driver probably loves that tree...not..) Anywho, there's this little V in the trunk that I can always get my foot jammed into, but I can't reach a branch to pull myself up -- and the V is only barely broad enough for me to stick my foot in there and twist it sideways.  So I re-evaluate the situation.  Either I can go the easy route and just forget about the pictures, or I can try to take a running leap and try to grab onto a branch.  Of course, you know what route I take.  I stuff my camera into the bag with my dolls, clutch it close to my chest so the dolls nor the camera will get banged up, back up several steps, and run.  Being short stinks.  It took me several tries, but I finally managed to grab the branch.  Then, I had to stick my foot in the V of the trunk.  Well...I probably should've gotten ahold of the branch a little closer to the tree itself, because I had to stretch, stick my foot in there, and stand upright...without falling and breaking my foot, which is jammed into the V of the trunk like nobody's business.  (Yes, leave it up to me to figure out some weird alternative to what could've happened).  Anyway...so I stood as pictured above the whole time, which is why I didn't get as many pictures as I was hoping for...my leg was shaking so bad by the time I finally retired to the tulips and daffodils xD 
So anyway.  I know...that was a pointless and dumb story.  Morale of said story:  USE THE LADDER.  :P  Back to the pictures.

And guess who the newest addition is?  2011 Belle!!  I'm working on a review for her  (as well as half a dozen other things =D)  So that's why this post is a bit heavy with Belle pics...I'm trying to figure out the best angles to photograph her from.  She's extremely photogenic!  And so pretty...now, there's no wonder that her name means "beauty" ;)

Ahh, yes!  A rare appearance from Mattel's 2010 Rapunzel! :D

Disney Store - Frozen Heads-Up :D

Drawings =}

Hey everyone!  Sorry I didn't get this posted until now!  I got sidetracked with the outdoors (The window's open, so's that door, I didn't know they did that anymore!  Who knew we'd get some warm weather....) so my blog was neglected this week...sorry again!  For now, I've got some pictures of some drawings I've done, all of which are posted on my Pinterest board "Made by Me".  I have a TON of other drawings I need to get posted though xD  I'm currently thinking about what all I want to cover in my Epic review, so I'm hoping to get that posted soon.  
These pics are in no particular order, like the random Dachshund one was from about two years ago, whereas the last Elsa one was from like two days ago.  They're just kinda mixed up xD  So yeah.  Comments/suggestions?  And if anyone wants me to try drawing a certain picture of a Disney princess, send me the link and I'll try it out and post it on here!  (: 

Quick Photoshoot

 

Hey guys!  Sorry it's taken me THIS LONG to get a photoshoot up... :(  I had some Rapunzel pictures in here, too, but later decided to delete them out because it was like.. "Frozen Frozen Frozen Frozen TANGLED Frozen Frozen TANGLED..." and they didn't really fit in so yeah...that'll be another post :D  But for now...here's some of my favorite Frozen pics from  my photoshoot earlier this month.

Hey everyone!  Just wanted to pop in really quick to say..
Thank you, thank you, thank you sooo much, everyone!  Never thought I'd have 4000+ views on this blog, and 10 followers in the first year!  With this blog's 1-year-anniversary coming up, I'd like to apologize ahead of time -- I'd love to do a giveaway or something, but I'm unfortunately not able to do a giveaway for  various reasons..sorry, guys :\ 
In other matters, I'm hopefully going to get the photoshoot I did a little while back posted-- I was going to post it this week, but it's been fairly crazy between spring cleaning my room and the fact that my guinea pig passed away, so I've been having to Clorox the cage and EVERYTHING...ugh.  Since I can't stand the quietness in my room now, with no guinea pigs running up and squealing excitedly every time I'd touch the doorknob, I think I might follow some advice I got awhile back, and try having birds or something.  I'm not really sure what I'll do yet though.  Ugh. 

In more exciting, happy news, Frozen comes out in 4 days!!!!!  My copy's been preordered since December or so, so I'm hoping I don't have to wait too long to get it shipped out xD  Anyone preorder their copy, or are you going to get it in stores?  Anyone else excited, or is it just me? 

So that's it for now...I'm hoping to get that photoshoot up soon!

Hey guys -- just a quick pop in to let you know that the Disney Store is currently having an 'up to 40% off' sale; and the Classic 12" dolls are on sale for $10 each as well.  They also are offering free shipping with a purchase of $50 or more -- just thought I'd let you guys know!  I don't think they have any Frozen dolls in yet, though--the Frozen madness rages on.. :D 

And for right now, that's about it...I'm going to go work on some drafts, including the review for Thor: The Dark World...so excited to write about it xD 

Quick Pop-In

Hey, everyone!  I'm still alive...! 
I'm thinking about doing a quick photoshoot or something today, which I will, of course, post if I do; but I was also wondering if anyone would be interested in reading movie reviews for Thor: The Dark World and Iron Man 3?  I recently watched both of them, and will be happy to try to write spoiler-free reviews if anyone comments and lets me know they want reviews for either of them!! (:  Not sure if I've got any Marvel fans out there.  (If there is, Thor: The Dark World was released on Blu-Ray & DVD on Tuesday the 25th xD) 
Only 16 days until Frozen's released on DVD!!  Anyone excited? 

And another thing -- since I draw a lot, would anyone like to see any of my sketches?  Not doll-related, but at least it'd be something Disney-related, even though I'm not good at drawing at all xD
