Photoshoot and a new face!

Hey, guys!  So yesterday, I decided to do a photoshoot, since it was soo pretty outside, and the crabapple tree in the front yard is in full bloom.

This is how I got up to do these pics.  You might find it slightly amusing...or you'll just groan because now I realize I could've just gotten a ladder from the garage. (I'm a day late and a dollar short, I suppose! xD) Anyway.
I had my dolls in a plastic bag to keep them clean and all within arm's reach; my camera in the other hand.
When I went out to do the photoshoot, I thought "Oh gee, I'll be able to just toss them up on limbs from the ground and take pics that way, those limbs aren't very high up off the ground!"
Silly me.
The limbs were too spindly and weak.  I needed to climb up the tree in order to get any pictures.
Mind you, the front yard is in full view of the road that goes past the house.  And it was during the busiest time of the afternoon (even though we live in a rural area).  So...if anyone reading this saw a random person with a blue plastic bag clutched to her chest, jumping erratically and/or swinging off of a branch...that was me. [I'm highly self-conscious, in case anyone's wondering xD].
Anyway.
Soo this is our best climbing tree.  As a little kid, I always used to climb it (of course, I didn't take my dolls and I didn't take a camera).  Easy enough, right?  Well...that's been awhile.  The limbs closer down have also been trimmed off, due to them being too close to the driveway (our UPS driver probably loves that tree...not..) Anywho, there's this little V in the trunk that I can always get my foot jammed into, but I can't reach a branch to pull myself up -- and the V is only barely broad enough for me to stick my foot in there and twist it sideways.  So I re-evaluate the situation.  Either I can go the easy route and just forget about the pictures, or I can try to take a running leap and try to grab onto a branch.  Of course, you know what route I take.  I stuff my camera into the bag with my dolls, clutch it close to my chest so the dolls nor the camera will get banged up, back up several steps, and run.  Being short stinks.  It took me several tries, but I finally managed to grab the branch.  Then, I had to stick my foot in the V of the trunk.  Well...I probably should've gotten ahold of the branch a little closer to the tree itself, because I had to stretch, stick my foot in there, and stand upright...without falling and breaking my foot, which is jammed into the V of the trunk like nobody's business.  (Yes, leave it up to me to figure out some weird alternative to what could've happened).  Anyway...so I stood as pictured above the whole time, which is why I didn't get as many pictures as I was hoping for...my leg was shaking so bad by the time I finally retired to the tulips and daffodils xD
So anyway.  I know...that was a pointless and dumb story.  Morale of said story:  USE THE LADDER.  :P  Back to the pictures.

"Help...me...save me from this crazy person..."

And guess who the newest addition is?  2011 Belle!!  I'm working on a review for her  (as well as half a dozen other things =D)  So that's why this post is a bit heavy with Belle pics...I'm trying to figure out the best angles to photograph her from.  She's extremely photogenic!  And so pretty...now, there's no wonder that her name means "beauty" ;)

Ahh, yes!  A rare appearance from Mattel's 2010 Rapunzel! :D

Those are some big tulips.

These are more doll-sized flowers...!

That's it for now, guys!  I'll hopefully have some more posts up soon!  Plus...I have almost 5500 pageviews, and 11 followers -- you guys are AWESOME!  Thank you so much =]

Has anyone else taken their dolls out and had some spring photoshoots yet?  Or maybe I'm just late on the uptake :P   Also, I have some questions for you guys:  Would you be interested in TV show reviews as well?  I watch so many shows and would be happy to share some intel if you'd like :P  Also, upcoming movie reviews include Wreck-It-Ralph, RIPD, The Lone Ranger, and Monsters U!

Quick pop-in and a TV show review!

Hey, guys!  I just realized I haven't posted anything on  here since the day before Easter...oops...sorry, guys!  I have a TON of posts planned, but I just haven't gotten around to writing them xD  Gotta love procrastination, right?  Ugh.
Anywayyy, today I have a quick post reviewing a TV show called "Chuck".
Has anyone heard of the TV series “Chuck”?  Well, if you haven't, it may be because it was only on for 5 seasons.  It ran on channel NBC between 2007-2012, and if you get into nerdy crime shows, this would be for you.
The main character, Charles "Chuck" Irving Bartowski, who works at a Buy More in Burbank, California.
After opening up an email sent to him by his old college ex-best-friend, Bryce Larkin, all of the government's secrets are installed into his brain.  Since the "Intersect", which held all the secrets before they got downloaded into his brain, kind of got blown up, this event promptly sends him into a gigantic mess, which involves the CIA and the NSA.  Trust me, it's confusing, but it makes slightly more sense if you watch the show.  This show is absolutely HILARIOUS!  Let me warn you: the first season is kind of slow, Chuck makes a bunch of *stupid* newbie mistakes (since, really, he's kind of just been thrown into spyhood), and there is a bit of talk about inappropriate content, mostly in the first season.  And of course - and unfortunately - there are some bad words as well, but nothing extremely...like, R rated.
Anyway, you'll laugh, you'll cry, and after you see the series finale, you'll watch the show all over again :D
Plussss....
Chuck Bartowski is played by Zachary Levi, whom we all know and love as the voice of Eugene Fitzherbert.  Ohh yeah!!!  His character speaks to me on a personal level...he's awkward, nerdy, hides in his room when his sister plans a huge birthday party for him, and promptly passes out at the sight of needles.  xD
Anyway, the rest of the main characters include...
Joshua Gomez as Morgan Grimes, Chuck’s best friend, who also works at the Buy More
Yvonne Strahovski as Sarah Walker/Jenny/tons of other aliases; works for the CIA.
Adam Baldwin as Colonel John Casey (NSA.  Dry humor.  Man of few words, grunts a lot.  Likes to use his tranquilizer gun…a lot.  Hilarity always ensues.)
Sarah Lancaster as Elinor (Ellie) Bartowski — Chuck’s awesome sister.
Ryan McPartlin as Devon Woodcomb — aka Captain Awesome.  (No, literally; he’s called Captain Awesome.  Chuck gives him that name xD)
Vik Sahay as Lester….who works at the Buy More.
Scott Krinsky as Jeffrey Barnes; also works at the Buy More.
Mark Christopher Lawrence as “Big Mike”, who is the store manager of the Burbank  Buy More.
Bonita Friedericy as General Diane Beckman , who basically is the head of the Project Intersect.
Chuck Group Zachary Levi Masterprint
I can’t really say very much about the show, because it would spoil a lot of things, but let’s just say that it’s an amazing show, and you can watch all 91 episodes on Netflix if you so desire. I highly recommend it!  You can also look up season 1-5 bloopers on YouTube...also worth a watch.  They are hilarious!  I laughed so hard I cried when I watched season 1's bloopers.  Actually, I'll just include links to those -- everyone loves bloopers, right?
Season 1 bloopers
Season 2 bloopers
Season 3 bloopers
Season 4 bloopers
Season 5 bloopers

Has anyone seen Chuck?  Anyone plan on watching it?  If you have any questions, I'll be more than happy to answer them.   And if you want to talk anything Chuck-related...you know where to comment.  =D

Epic Movie Review

Hey guys!  :D  So here's the movie review for Epic, which I just recently saw.
If you don't already know, Epic was from the creators of Ice Age.  According to Google, this is the synopsis of the movie: "Epic" tells the story of an ongoing battle deep in the forest between the forces of good and the forces of evil. When a teen age girl finds herself magically transported into this secret universe, she must band together with a rag-tag team of fun and whimsical characters in order to save their world... and ours."

Colin Farrell voices the rough, but lovable Ronin (a leaf man), who starts out as rather cold and sarcastic; he's really dead-set on doing anything to protect the queen, Tara.  He also has to train young Nod, who knows justttt how to get on his nerves.  By the end of the movie, he's quite a bit softer, but still sarcastic.
Amanda Seyfried voices Mary-Katherine (Or MK), the teenage girl with an estranged father.  Her mother just recently passed away, and this forces MK to go live with her father, Professor Bomba (voiced by Jason Sudeikis).  He's a very eccentric scientist who believes in an advanced society of beings that live in the woods.  The obsessive research trying to prove this is what drives his family away, and what causes him his job.
Josh Hutcherson voices Nod, the young and adventurous leaf man who lost his father when he was young -- not sure about his mother.  He has to learn that life's not all rough and tumble fun; and he has to help Ronin keep MK safe after queen Tara gets injured and virtually leaves the life of the forest up to MK.  It's kind of hard to explain, you'll just have to see the movie to understand xD

The majority of the comic relief comes from Mub and Grub, a snail and a slug.  The snail is extremely focused on wanting to become a leaf man, while the slug is just a little disgusting, and has this big crush on MK.  They are absolutely hilarious!

I'm not really sure what all to say about the movie that doesn't spoil anything....let's just say that I was expecting a very different, more fairytale-like ending; and the movie was epic.  Pun intended.  ;)

The plot was pretty good -- When I started watching the movie, I thought "Oh, great.  It's going to be this movie with an overly-environmental message..." Don't get me wrong, I think it's important to be a good steward to the Earth, as the Bible says we should be, but I'm not a fan of the "Every time you use your car, every time you turn on a lightbulb, every time you BREATHE, you're polluting our environment.  Stop it!"  message that is so popular -- not to offend anyone.  But actually, it wasn't overly environmental!  The villains are Boggins that are out to rot everything in the forest, and so MK, Nod, and Ronin have to save the forest after something happens to Tara.  I was pretty happy that it wasn't a totally environmental movie (:

And on to the voicing.  I think all the voices are very fitting, but I do have a couple of complaints...a couple of Josh Hutcherson's lines are a bit emotionless and not..I don't know...well-said.  There could be a bit more emotion behind a couple of the lines.  You know what I mean?  And Beyonce could've done a lot better of a job voicing Tara, but oh well.  And in the very absolute beginning of the movie, the animation is kind of off and a bit jerky/jumpy, but it improves a LOT through the movie.  And did I mention that Nod looks a LOT like Eugene from Tangled?!  That was awesome.  :D

Overall, I think I'd give the movie a 4 out of 5.  Some of the lines are a bit off, and some of the animation is a bit funky, but other than that, it's a great movie, and I'd recommend it to anyone!! (:

Has anyone seen Epic?  What were your thoughts; or do you plan to see Epic sometime?

Drawings =}

Hey everyone!  Sorry I didn't get this posted until now!  I got sidetracked with the outdoors (The window's open, so's that door, I didn't know they did that anymore!  Who knew we'd get some warm weather....) so my blog was neglected this week...sorry again!  For now, I've got some pictures of some drawings I've done, all of which are posted on my Pinterest board "Made by Me".  I have a TON of other drawings I need to get posted though xD  I'm currently thinking about what all I want to cover in my Epic review, so I'm hoping to get that posted soon.
These pics are in no particular order, like the random Dachshund one was from about two years ago, whereas the last Elsa one was from like two days ago.  They're just kinda mixed up xD  So yeah.  Comments/suggestions?  And if anyone wants me to try drawing a certain picture of a Disney princess, send me the link and I'll try it out and post it on here!  (:
