Princess & Me Rapunzel review

Hey guys!
Just a little note before I go into the review...there are some horse shows coming up in the next couple of weeks that I'm planning on going to; so therefore, posting might be somewhat more scattered than usual xD  Just thought I'd let you all know so you didn't think I abandoned you all forever!!

Anyway....here's our lovely subject of this review, the Princess & Me Rapunzel.
Isn't she ADORABLE??  She stands 18" tall, and is pretty slender.  She has a chest joint, her head moves, and her arms and legs can move as well.  She cannot wear American Girl clothes - they're wayyy too baggy - but she can wear BFC Ink clothes, I think.  Unless you count the dress I hand-sewed for my Addison.  It was VERY tight on her and apparently, she's more, uh...hippy...than Addison.  *Ahem*.  So I'm not sure if that'll affect anything.  Anyway...

She has LONG, soft, gorgeous blond hair!  There's even a lock of brown hair in there somewhere.  I couldn't find it, but I did make a valid attempt to find it!  :P

One hunk of hair is a lot shorter than the rest; since I had 2 with this (sold the other on eBay xD) I figure it's not a random-hair-cut.  I think it has something to do with her little 'swoop' thingy (as The Art of Tangled would call it.)
Which, her part is off.  It should be on the RIGHT side of her head, not on her left!  It isn't movie accurate.  And if it isn't movie accurate, it irks me.  As you have probably already figured out :P

She has the most GORGEOUS face and glass eyes. She has a cute smile, thick painted-on eyebrows, painted-on eyelashes, and freckles!  Just love those freckles...

Her bodice, sleeves, etc.  Her dress is quite accurate to the movie - SCORE!!

Her skirt

Her arms can go up, but they won't stick out very far, as you can see in the picture below.

That's as far as I could get them out, when they were down.

Showing off her chest plate

And she is pretty photogenic....and have I mentioned that she's adorable? ;)

Oh, and one more quick little thing.  The details on this dress is AMAZING!  This is the border along the border of the skirt.

And her bodice.

So, what do you guys think about her?  I absolutely love her and would definitely recommend her to anyone - collectors and children alike!  But before you give her to a child, I would stock up on Downy-dunk equipment.  Her hair gets, well..TANGLED...very quickly.  And I mean, breeze-going-the-wrong-way quickly.  Her hair was brushed out at least 7 times during the photoshoot....yeah.  Anyway.  She's a gorgeous doll and she seems pretty well put together.  She may tend to be a little top-heavy and sometimes will randomly topple over though; and it seems like one leg is just a shade shorter than the other...which was the same way with the other one I had as well.  Not sure if it's a defect or what...so I just usually display her sitting down - and then I don't wake up in the middle of the night to a loud THUD, which is her falling from the shelf to the floor.  Not a good thing to have happen right after you've watched a crime show before you go to bed.  xD

Doll comparison --Arm poseability

Hi everyone (:
Today's review post will be a comparison review about arm poseability.  And then we'll have a quick little photoshoot at the end just because :P
Here we have our four 'contestants' for the review.
From left to right:
2013 DS Rapunzel, 2012 DS Wedding Rapunzel, 2012 DS Merida, and 2010 Mattel Rapunzel.
(And I think this picture's kind of funny...2013 Rapunzel's looking off to the side with a sneaky/sly look on her face, and 2012 Rapunzel looks like she knows what 2013 Rapunzel's secret is... :D)

All of the DS (Disney Store) dolls have joints at the wrists, elbows, and shoulders, which enables them to strike a LOT more poses!
Mattel Rapunzel has no arm joints except for the shoulder joints.
Here's everyone's "I dunno" look :P

Annd then there's Mattel Rapunzel.  "How do you expect ME to know where you put your tiara, other Rapunzel??"
Anyway.

Here's everyone's "shocked" face :P

Wedding Rapunzel looks like she might be sick..

I think Merida totally pulls it off.

"I believe I can fly..."

Wonder what shocked all of them?  Hahaha...Wedding Rapunzel STILL looks like she smelled something terrible or something...

And here's from the side xD  As you can see, nobody can actually touch their lips in horror/surprise/shock/whatever.

There are a TON of different poses the three DS dolls can strike.
The winner of this 'round' is probably Merida; 2013 Rapunzel 2nd, 2012 Rapunzel 3rd, and Mattel Rapunzel last.
And to show off the photogenic-ness of these girls striking some fabulous poses, here you go - a quick little photoshoot, which I enjoyed doing probably too much...I love how they can be posed!!

Four Lovely Princesses...Rapunzel...Rapunzel...Rapunzel...MERIDA!  It's almost like 'duck duck goose!'

Lovely brunette Rapunzel

I love how this turned out :P

"Tomorrow night, the lights will appear...just like they do on my birthday each year.."

"What is it like, out there where they glow?..."

"Now that I'm older, mother might just let me go..."

I LOVE how this one turned out...Her colors are just so striking - bright red hair, stunning blue eyes, and then a dark green dress with bright gold accents.

And this one...

"And now I'm lyin' on the cold hard ground!  Oh, oh..." (Taylor Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble"...) I totally thought of that song when I set her like this!

Anyway....that's all for today!  Hopefully I'll have another review up soon! And I hope you're enjoying them (:

Doll comparison review - leg articulation part 1 - Sitting

Hi everyone!!
So I'm finally getting around to some more reviews - yayy!  :P  This'll just be a part 1, and it'll show how the dolls sit.
I decided to break this up into several parts so it's not this big massive post :P

First off we have Wedding Rapunzel.  From the outside, she looks very ladylike in her chair.

And here we have Merida.  She also looks somewhat ladylike - as ladylike as Miss Merida could be! :P

Rapunzel sits with her legs almost straight out, and hardly bent.  This isn't as easily noticed until you pull her skirt up.

And then there's poor Merida.  She would sit very nicely, if it weren't for her mis-articulated legs :(

And then we also have a Mattel Rapunzel.  She sits very ladylike, as well, and her legs will bend a lot further.

You can also cross her legs at the ankles!

Mattel Rapunzel probably wins this category, Disney Rapunzel a second, and poor Merida a third.

What are your thoughts?  The next reviews will probably include 2013 Rapunzel as well - but there's not much difference between her and Wedding Rapunzel.
(:  Hoping to have them posted sometime soon - it's not as daunting a task if you break it down.

Disney Fairytale Couples Designer Collection by DS

Hi everyone!!
Just recently saw some info on the rumor about the Disney Fairytale Couples Designer Collection by the Disney Store.
According to Stitch Kingdom , they will be formally announced probably later this month.
Belle & Beast, Ariel & Eric, Snow White & Prince, Jasmine & Aladdin, and Rapunzel & Flynn will be the couples featured in the collection.
They'll supposedly retail $130 per couple as a boxed set, and a set of lithographs will be available for around $30, supposedly.

If you click on the link I provided to Stitch Kingdom above, you'll be able to see the thumbnails for the lithographs, but I also included the photos below.
CREDITS FOR ALL THE PICTURES GOES TO STITCH KINGDOM [=
Ariel

Jasmine

Rapunzel (totally LOVE this!  Of course...just look at my blogger name and you'll know why :P)

Snow White

Belle

Sooo is anyone else excited about this?  I probably won't be able to get any of them, but if I were to have $130 laying around to blow on another doll purchase...Rapunzel and Flynn would be coming home with me!  Maybe I'll look into the lithographs haha!

Who are your favorites?  Anyone planning on getting any of them?  Would love to hear anyone's thoughts!  (:

Thanks (=

Thanks, you guys!  Over 400 pageviews!!!! You don't know how much that means to me - I didn't think I'd even get 100, as I've probably said before (:  I have some reviews & comparisons I need to get posted on here if I can just get to working on them (=
But for now...
Did anyone get any of the new 2013 Disney Store princess dolls?  Which are your favorites?  (:

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July, everyone!!  I hope you all have a great day and stay safe!!

Also, don't forget why we celebrate today - to celebrate our freedom (although these days it seems like our freedom is slowly being taken away), and to be thankful for those who gave it all to keep us free.
