Frozen Deluxe 2-Disc Soundtrack Review

Hey everyone!  Sorry I haven't posted in awhile...again...!  But today, we'll be taking a quick look at the Frozen Deluxe 2-Disc Soundtrack.
I got the soundtrack off of Amazon for around $15, and I got it the day before I went to see Frozen on the 30th of November.  I was a bit hesitant to buy the soundtrack, when I didn't even know if I was gonna like the soundtrack or not, but I wanted to snag it because they were selling out so fast!  There were like three left in stock when I ordered it.  Eek!

So when it came, I was super impressed.  It makes me want to order the hard copy of Tangled's soundtrack, even though I bought it on iTunes (and...rarely listen to it, because I don't use my iPod for songs much.  Weird, I know.  xD) So anyway.  The CD case is GORGEOUS -- everything about the CD case, even the CDs, is gorgeous! The insert with the lyrics also have actual photos/scenes from the movie.

But anyway, you're wondering what music's on there, not what it looks like!
The soundtrack has all the scores from the movie, as well as all the songs - like "Frozen Heart", "For the First Time in Forever", and "Let it Go"  (Both Idina and Demi's.)  The second disc has all the score demos, and quite a few outtakes - such as "More Than Just the Spare", "We Know Better", "Life's Too Short", etc.
And absolutely every single song is absolutely GORGEOUS.  It's probably one of my absolute favorite soundtracks.  It also, in the second disc, has karaoke versions of "For the First Time in Forever", "Let it Go" (both Let it Go versions - Idina and Demi's.), and "Love Is An Open Door".

If you want to listen to any of these songs, this one person on YouTube (username is Rose Red) has all the songs uploaded on their channel.  At least, I think they have all of them.  Regardless, click HERE to go to their channel -- hopefully the link works.  :D

Overall, I give the soundtrack a 5 out of 5.  It's absolutely beautiful, and I listen to songs from it almost every day.  I highly reccomend it.  If you buy it from Amazon (HERE), it's only $14.58 for the actual CD --plus you'll get a free MP3 download of it so you can listen to it right away! =D

Anyone planning on buying the soundtrack?  Anyone already have it?  What are your thoughts on the songs/scores from Frozen?  (:

The Art of Frozen

Okay...Blogger's being weird about uploading pics - I was unable to get ANY of the pictures I'd taken up, which has been partially why it's taken me so long to get this up.  Sooo finally, I'm just giving in and not having any pictures.  Ughh.
So let's see.  This is going to be fairly tricky to accomplish without pictures.
The slipcover of the "Art of Frozen" features concept art of both Anna and Elsa; the back has Elsa's ice castle and a brief description of the movie.  When you remove the slipcover, the hardback book has a dark blue cover, and the front has a GORGEOUS rendering of a snowflake.  It is absolutely beautiful!
From there, the book gets even better.
Each character gets their own section, with brief touches on character design, concept art, etc. for all of them.  Elsa gets TWO sections dedicated to her; one named 'Elsa' and the other 'The Snow Queen'.  Even Marshmallow and the Trolls get their own sections! And the Duke of Weselton.  Or should I say Weasletown...? ;)
The book has LOADS of absolutely stunning concept art pieces, from many artists, including Jin Kim, Claire Keane, Lisa Keene, Brittany Lee, and others.  There are also quite a few little bits of information that I found intriguing - who knew that Elsa's hair was originally going to be black?
"The Art of Frozen" has a lot of information on character design, including patterns, photographs from Norway, and just ...this whole book is incredible!!
The book is around 160 pages long.  It has several pages dedicated to storyboards as well.

Overall, and I apologize AGAIN that my photos wouldn't come up (Ugh!!), I give "The Art of Frozen" a 5/5.  If you're interested in the making of the movie, it is well worth the $27 to buy it off of Amazon!  (:

That's about it for now, sorry for the lack of pictures!
Anyone planning on getting "The Art of Frozen"?  Does anyone already have it, and if you do, what are your thoughts on it? (:

New Disney Store releases!

Hey everyone!!
So on looking at the Disney Store's new releases for this week, I found some epic stuff I thought I'd share.
First off...
There is a "Thor: The Dark World" DVD in there.  Doesn't say preorder or anything, even though the *official* release dates, which were just announced on the Thor Facebook page, is Feb. 4th for DVD and February 25th for the Blu-Ray.  Hmmm...?  But hey.  I may end up snatching it up!  :D

There is also the absolutely ADORABLE Kristoff Animator doll available now - and the Tinkerbelle one!  They are SO cute!!!  I've been thinking about getting the Frozen toddler girls, but Kristoff's so cute too....oh boy.  :D

And this isn't a brand new release, but the Classic Wedding Rapunzel with brunette hair is back on the store site.  (:
Also, there is supposed to be a free shipping promotion on your 'entire order with the purchase of a new item' until TOMORROW for anyone who wants to take advantage of that!

I'm hoping to get some reviews worked on today - I don't think I have much to do today (unless I'm forgetting about something....) and it is COLD out there already!! If anyone's living in the North or on the East coast, stay warm!!!

New Year, new doll news! =D

Hey everyone!!  I hope you all had a great day yesterday (and everyday :P )!
I'll be doing a review of my new "Art of Frozen" book soon, as well as the soundtrack, so this blog's gonna start getting pretty Frozen-ified.. =P

American Girl's new 2014 GOTY is Isabelle -  a lot  of you probably already knew that if you're big into the doll blogiverse, but I didn't want to post any spoilers for those who didn't want them!  Is anyone getting her?

And the Disney Store is coming out with more Frozen LE dolls - another Anna and Elsa.
Aren't they GORGEOUS?!  They're coming out on sale January 10th....edition size of 5,000 each.
Anyone getting them?

And with the new year...I've been considering trying to more focus in my doll collections.  My major collections are Frozen and Tangled, but I have a few random gals just hanging around, so I'm considering downsizing them so I can have more room (and more focus) on my main collections.  Not sure, though...anyone have any thoughts on this?
And as far as resolutions go, I'm just going to try to get back into shape (I haven't been able to ride in a couple of months...ugh!), read my Bible more, try to improve my horsemanship skills, try to be more accepting of certain people I know, and keep this blog going for you all!  Anyone have any ideas on what you'd like to see on this blog?  Sketches, more photoshoots, etc?  I got a camera for Christmas so I'll have better quality pics!!!!! (=

OH!  Another little snippet of info.  Apparently, Frozen will be released on Blu-Ray and DVD on March 18th, 2014!!!!!  Yayy!!! Only a coupla months to go!  Anyone buying the DVD?  I know I will be!  And to any Marvel fans out there, Thor: The Dark World will *supposedly* be released March 20th.  I'll also be getting it - can't wait to see it! :D

So...for now, I *think* that's about it.  Anyone have any New Year's resolutions?  :)
